In the Volgograd region, a pensioner beat a friend with a shovel during a feast

A 44-year-old man was urgently taken to the district hospital with multiple head injuries. The nature of the injuries clearly indicated a criminal origin, so the doctors immediately reported the incident to the police.

Law enforcement officers quickly followed the suspect and detained him. He was a 70-year-old local resident.

According to investigators, the tragedy was preceded by joint drinking. At one point, a verbal conflict broke out between the men, which quickly turned into violence. An angry pensioner grabbed a shovel and began to strike it on the head of his opponent.

A criminal case was initiated against the detainee under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Intentional infliction of grave harm to health”. Now the elderly man faces severe punishment - up to ten years in prison.
