Police officers in Vladikavkaz detained a 35-year-old previously convicted local resident. He is suspected of fraud on an especially large scale, the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
A 39-year-old woman who provides legal services has contacted the police. She said that in March, a friend asked to help with the privatization of the apartment, issuing a notarial power of attorney in her name. A month later, he asked to find a buyer for the house, citing the need for money for business.
The victim found a buyer and gave the man an advance of 1 million rubles. Then, under various pretexts, he lured another 1.3 million rubles from her, formalizing the deal with a receipt. The total amount was 2.3 million rubles.
At the same time, the man avoided signing documents, citing employment. At the end of August, the woman learned that he had sold the apartment himself, embezzled the money and stopped communicating.
Police found that the defendant is hiding in the Krasnodar Territory. The operatives left for Sochi, detained him and brought him to North Ossetia. A criminal case has been opened.
