The bus driver showed passengers footage of the murders of the Russian military

In Novy Urengoy detained the driver of a passenger bus, who was accused of public justification and propaganda of terrorism. According to investigators, the man showed passengers on the installed in the cabin monitors materials that spread terrorist ideology.

One of the recordings, according to an eyewitness, showed footage of attacks on Russian servicemen. After the initiation of a criminal case, the driver was detained.

According to the investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the accused worked as a public transport driver in Novy Urengoy. Investigators say the man shared the ideology of radical Islam and used bus equipment to distribute material justifying terrorist activity.

To demonstrate the video, he used monitors located directly in the passenger compartment. Thus, the banned content could be seen by people who were on the bus during the trip.

The nature of the materials shown is evidenced by a video published by the regional department of the Investigative Committee. In the footage, one of the passengers is outraged by the content of the broadcast and says that the screen shows how Russian servicemen were blown up.

The investigation regards the actions of the driver not as a normal viewing of video materials, but as their public distribution among passengers in order to justify and promote terrorism.

After establishing the circumstances of the incident, law enforcement authorities detained the man. A criminal case was opened against him under Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for liability for public calls for terrorist activity, its justification or propaganda.

The investigators charged the driver and appealed to the court to elect a preventive measure. The court granted the request of the investigation and ordered the man to be taken into custody.
