The driver of “Kia” flew at speed into the ambulance, killed two people

On the night of October 17, a fatal accident occurred in the center of Petrozavodsk. The Kia car collided with an ambulance. As a result, two medical personnel were killed. This was reported in the regional MIA.

According to police, the accident happened about 02:52 GMT at the intersection of Krasnoarmeyskaya and Maxim Gorky streets. Kia cars and an ambulance collided. From the injuries on the spot died the driver of 1980 year of birth and the employee of the medical service of 1958 year of birth.

It became known that doctors rushed to a call to a seven-month-old child. There were flashing beacons on the car.

The driver of the foreign car survived. A man born in 1997 was hospitalized. His condition is assessed as stable. The Minister of Health of Karelia Mikhail Okhlopkov confirmed that the ambulance was literally demolished by the car.

Now employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate and the investigative and operational group are working on the spot. All the circumstances and causes of the tragedy are investigated.
