The driver in Kargopol ran into a wheelchair with a child

The police department “Kargopolskoye” of the inter-municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Nyandomsky” received a report of a road accident at the intersection of Oktyabrsky Avenue and Proletarsky Lane in the city of Kargopol.

According to preliminary data, the car, moving in the area of the house 88 on Oktyabrsky Avenue, when overtaking, hit a baby carriage, which on the edge of the carriageway towards the moving transport rolled 39-year-old woman. There was a 4-year-old child in the wheelchair. The driver fled the scene.

As a result of the accident, the boy was injured and hospitalized.

During the operational-search activities, the alleged culprit of the accident was identified and detained. He was a 43-year-old local resident. It was established that the man does not have the right to drive vehicles, and behind the wheel of the Lada car belonging to his wife, he sat down, drinking alcohol.

He faces a sentence of up to seven years in prison. An investigation is under way. In respect of the driver, five protocols on administrative offenses have also been drawn up, including for driving a car by a driver who does not have the right to drive vehicles, and for leaving the scene of an accident.

The spouse of the violator is brought to administrative responsibility for the transfer of control of the machine to a person who does not have the right to drive vehicles.
