Eight people to stand trial for kidnapping

The court sent a criminal case against eight residents of the Arsky district, who are charged with committing a series of serious crimes. According to the investigation, in the period from 2023 to 2026, the defendants committed illegal acts both as part of a group and alone.

One of the episodes dates back to 2023. Then the attackers, using threats of traumatic weapons, kidnapped a local resident. This is reported by the press service of the IC for the Republic of Tatarstan. The man was beaten and taken by car to a deserted area, where under a contrived pretext demanded 100 thousand rubles. In the future, the victim was forced to meet the demands of extortionists and transfer money.

Another case occurred in the autumn of 2025. The defendants kidnapped two 17-year-olds, mistakenly believing they belonged to a hostile youth group. They attempted to kidnap a minor acquaintance, but the young man resisted and managed to escape. The kidnapped teenagers were taken to the field, where they tried to find out their information.

The measure of restraint for the defendants was determined by the court at the request of the investigator: four accused were taken into custody, the rest were assigned house arrest. At present, the case file has been transferred to the judicial authorities for further investigation.
