Yaroslavna transferred a record amount to fraudsters

73-year-old resident of the Leninsky district on the advice of “Roskomnadzor” and “the Prosecutor General” was left without nine million rubles.

A complex operation to defraud an elderly woman began in May with a message in the messenger allegedly from a regional overhaul fund. There was also a reference to “voting”. After switching on it came the code, which was very frightening, and the woman tried to change the password on the state services.

Then the pensioner had to communicate with “an employee of Roskomnadzor”, “specialist of the Federal Treasury” and even a false representative of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Protecting everything she had accumulated, she bought a new phone, installed an app and, according to the video instructions, transferred all the money to the accounts she was given.

Currently, a criminal case on fraud on an especially large scale has been initiated.
