A courier who stole about 6 million rubles from a pensioner was detained

In the Smolensk region opened a criminal case on fraud on an especially large scale after an elderly resident of the region gave unknown about 6 million rubles.

As the investigation established, at the end of July, the man appealed to the duty unit of the police with a statement that for 3 weeks he maintained contact with the attackers who convinced him to transfer his savings to the so-called “safe account” to prevent unauthorized write-offs. Trusting the interlocutors, the pensioner handed over the money to the girl who arrived at his house, who acted as a courier. On this fact, the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Vyazemsky” initiated proceedings under the article on fraud on an especially large scale.

In the course of operational activities, criminal investigation officers established the identity of the suspect. She was a 27-year-old resident of the city district of Pushkin, Moscow region, who worked remotely for unidentified persons. Received from the pensioner, she delivered to Moscow in a crypto exchange, leaving a negotiated percentage as a reward. Currently, the defendant was detained on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on suspicion of committing a similar crime and imprisoned.
