In the Novomalyklinsky district of the Ulyanovsk region eliminated areas where hemp grew wild

In the Novomalyklinsky district of the Ulyanovsk region, areas where wild cannabis grew were eliminated. Local authorities did not take the necessary measures to identify and destroy the plants until the prosecutor's office intervened.
Violations were discovered by employees of the district prosecutor's office during the inspection of compliance with the legislation in the field of drug prevention. It turned out that responsible officials did not properly organize the work on the search and elimination of foci of narcotic plants.
According to the supervisory authority, such inaction created conditions for the illegal acquisition of marijuana. Wild-growing cannabis remained available, increasing the risk of its use for illegal purposes.
To eliminate the violations, the prosecutor made a submission demanding that the necessary measures be taken. After the intervention of the supervisory authority, the identified hemp thickets on the territory of the municipality were destroyed.
This work is carried out in the framework of the prevention of drug trafficking. Timely detection and elimination of wild narcotic plants allows to limit access to potential raw materials for the manufacture of prohibited substances.
