Woman calls police after killing mother she calls stepmother

In the South Korean capital, police have demanded the arrest of a woman suspected of killing her mother. After committing the crime, she called law enforcement officers herself, but called the deceased her stepmother. It was later revealed that the women were related by blood. According to the investigation, the murder occurred at about 08:00 on October 22 in a residential building in the area of Ujansan-dong Kansogu County in Seoul. The suspect lived with his mother. Investigators believe that the woman caused a relative fatal stab wounds.

About the incident police reported the alleged culprit. During the call, she said she had done something wrong with her stepmother. Arriving law enforcement officers detained the woman at the place of residence at about 08:40.

The case was initially investigated as a routine murder. However, the check of family ties showed that the deceased was a detained mother. After that, the police changed the legal qualification of the suspicion of murder of a parent, which in South Korea is a separate crime. On the evening of October 22, investigators applied for a court order to remand the suspect in custody.

Law enforcement officers are also studying information about previous conflicts in the family. According to the testimony received by the police, the detainee had previously shown hostility to her mother, including insulting her. The investigation establishes the circumstances of the incident and the possible causes of the attack.
