Resident of Otradny caught 2.5 years after setting fire to the apartment of a friend

In the Kirov district of the Leningrad region, law enforcement officers arrested a man suspected of setting fire to an apartment on the grounds of a property conflict. This was reported in the press service of the GU MIA of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

On October 16, in Otradny, criminal investigators detained a 43-year-old local resident. He is suspected of deliberately setting fire to his apartment. On the night of July 1, 2023 in Kirovsk, a man set fire to the house of an acquaintance on Youth Street because of a dispute over the division of an apartment.

On February 28, 2024, the owner of the property, who suffered material damage in the amount of 908 thousand rubles, appealed to the police with a statement. The police opened a criminal case under article for deliberate destruction or damage to someone else’s property.
