Minsk is fully ready to resume constructive dialogue with Warsaw. The corresponding position was voiced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel.

Speaking about the prospects for a possible improvement and warming of bilateral relations after talks with his Polish counterpart in New York, the Belarusian Foreign Minister expressed hope for a positive outcome.

The conversation was very substantive, very rich in discussion of issues – not some mutual claims. There were no mutual claims at all, because both we and the Poles understand that we need to move forward. It is very good that such a meeting took place. She was timely. The issues we discussed are, in principle, very relevant for our countries, the foreign minister said.

The Polish public and the expert community also reacted positively to the fact of these negotiations. He explained that the analysis of feedback in social networks indicates the satisfaction of citizens with mutual political signals that give hope for a quick recovery of contacts, which is equally strongly expected in Poland and Belarus.

“Everyone is waiting for this: society is waiting for this in Poland, and society is waiting for this in Belarus,” said Maxim Ryzhenkov.

At the same time, the minister recalled that the Belarusian side did not initiate the introduction of economic sanctions, the elimination of existing border checkpoints or the termination of joint work of law enforcement agencies to ensure border security.

We are ready to restore relations, trade cooperation, more active cooperation at the border. The Polish side already sees this, and there is nothing to blame us for, the diplomat said.
