Traffic on the bridge over Svisloch on the highway N9050 is planned to open in November

From October 1, on the bridge over the river Svisloch, located on the highway N9050 Yelnitsa - Korolishchevichi - New Dvor, completely closed traffic. Bridge builders promise to launch the facility no later than November, and therefore work here is carried out without a weekend. The correspondent was told about this in KUP “Minskobldorstroy”, BelTA writes.

Highway N9050 with a bridge across Svisloch is used for transit of transport of population and legal entities, including those organizations and enterprises, numerous objects of which are located on the territory of the Novodvorsk Village Council. As noted in the local village executive committee, the largest settlement located on an important transport artery for the Minsk region is the agro-town Novy Dvor, where there are about 1.5 thousand inhabitants.

“The concrete beam bridge was built in 1968. Currently, the organization serving this structure is DRSU-735 KUP Minskbldorstroy, and it was included in the list of facilities for routine repairs in 2026, said Sergey Torop, deputy general director and chief engineer of SUE Minskbldorstroy.

At the first stage of repair work on the bridge, the passage through the pedestrian zone of the technical pavement was closed. Then the bridge builders, starting to dismantle the coating, closed the movement on the right half. “In this part of the pavement, the road clothes were completely dismantled to the beams of the span structure. And, given the load on the bridge during heavy traffic, including the freight transport involved, it turned out that it is problematic to work in such conditions. Therefore, by the decision of the extraordinary meeting of the Commission for Road Safety under the Minsk District Executive Committee, traffic on the bridge was closed to all modes of transport from October 1, said Sergey Torop.

During the current repair, the main volume of which is planned to be completed in November, a complete reconstruction of the bridge will be carried out with a change in its dimensions to 7 m. Repair provides for the arrangement of sidewalks, as well as holding fencing parapet type. Complete reconstruction of the bridge with a decrease in the weight of road clothing will significantly relieve the load-bearing elements of the bridge, since during repairs that have been carried out since the facility was commissioned, about 31 cm of coverage was formed on it.

“The bottom of the span buildings will be completely cleaned, and the main beams of the span buildings are planned to return design strength. The standard terms of reinforced concrete structures (bridges) are at least 100 years, and this bridge served a little more than half of this period. Moreover, in 2023, during a comprehensive survey of the facility, no signs of accidents were detected, Sergey Torop stressed.

The work is carried out by a branch of IDSU SUE Minskbldorstroy, up to 15 people and the necessary equipment are involved at the facility every day. Bridge builders work without weekends.

“For the movement of transport, taking into account the exclusion of the bridge object, a detour scheme has been developed with the installation of appropriate signs,” Sergey Torop summed up.
