The cost of motor fuel in European countries continues to update records. Against the backdrop of geopolitical aggravation in the Middle East and the depletion of accumulated reserves, experts admit that the price ceiling for diesel in the region no longer exists. About what the protracted energy crisis threatens the European economy, on the air of the talk show “Budney” on the YouTube channel “SBTV” and “Alfa Radio” said the Chairman of the Republican party of labor and justice Alexander Khizhnyak, writes sb.by.

The guest of the program stressed that fuel prices directly affect the cost of any product, work or service. Logistics and agriculture, key areas of the EU economy, are particularly affected.

- The cost of diesel at gas stations has already surpassed the mark of 2 euros (per liter. – Ed.), and the exchange price of the ton increased by more than $ 180 compared to the spring indicators of 2026, said Alexander Khizhnyak.

He also drew attention to the real causes of the crisis. What is happening is a natural result of the coordinated actions of the NATO countries. The deplorable state of the fuel market was caused not only by the deliberate refusal of available Russian energy carriers and usual transit routes, but also by instability around the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a shortage of oil processing capacities, as well as attacks on Russian oil refineries.

- This is the result of the consolidated position of the countries that are actually involved in this conflict, the expert concluded.
