Kaliningrad residents told about the causes of back pain in sports

Back pain during training indicates pathological changes and disorders in the musculoskeletal system. About this News.ru told osteotherapist Lyudmila Elisavetskaya.

Sports should strengthen the back, not destroy it. The main causes of pain are muscle imbalance (when a person pumps strong muscles, but does not train weak ones) and improper exercise technique, creating a dangerous compression on the discs. In addition, pain can cause hidden pathologies - protrusions, hernias or arthrosis, which are exacerbated by axial load.

If pain appears, the expert advises to check the technique with a coach or osteopath, balance the load, strengthen the gluteal muscles, and stretch the pectoral and iliac muscles.
