On the embankment of Orenburg, an observation deck sags, but there are no fences

Despite the state of the structure, walkers continue to gather in this part of the site, including with children. No fences. Perhaps the city authorities have already paid attention to the problem and do not expose them because they are confident in safety. But there is no evidence of this, Orenday notes. On the observation deck itself, wooden rails on the floor have already begun to disperse. Between the boards of the flooring appeared wide gaps through which you can see the crumbling base. That is, the problem is not only in the design of the coast, but also in the surface on which people walk.

It is worth remembering that this is not the first case. The gabion structure of the eastern part of the embankment has already caused trouble: part of it was destroyed during icebreaking and large-scale flooding in 2024.

While the artificial base of the eastern part of the embankment literally disappears from underfoot, local authorities are passionate about crop production in the western part. That is, attention is paid to landscaping and landscaping, and not so much to the load-bearing structure on which the safety of people depends.

The observation deck is a place where families come with children. The subsidence of the soil and the breakthrough of the grid is not a cosmetic defect, but a signal that the load-bearing structure loses stability. And if there are no official fences, people take it as a sign of safety. But the absence of a ribbon or fence does not mean there is no risk. And given the history of 2024, when part of the structure was already destroyed, the situation requires not observation, but verification and, possibly, urgent work. In the meantime, it seems that there is a problem, but they prefer not to notice it – neither the authorities nor, unfortunately, the citizens themselves.
