The Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Novgorod region announced a warning GOBUZ “Novgorod Central District Hospital”

The Department of Rospotrebnadzor in the Novgorod region announced a warning of GOBUZ “Novgorod Central District Hospital”. Information about this is posted on the website of the State Prosecutor's Office.
Employees of the Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Novgorod region studied the weekly reports of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology and identified a problem in the work of the Novgorod CRH: not all patients with influenza and acute respiratory infection are examined in the laboratory.
During the week from October 12 to 18, 2026, 515 cases of influenza and SARS were recorded in the NCRD, but only 320 people were tested by PCR and IXA methods - this is slightly more than 62% of the total number of patients.
Now in the region simultaneously circulating pathogens of acute respiratory infection, influenza and new coronavirus infection. These diseases have similar symptoms, so it is especially important to accurately determine the cause of the disease using laboratory tests - especially in those who are at risk of suffering from the infection.
According to sanitary regulations (SanPiN 3.3686-21), any patient with suspected infection should undergo a laboratory examination to identify the pathogen. To do this, different methods can be used - for example, DNA and RNA tests of pathogens, an enzyme immunoassay or immunochromatography test. All reagents and equipment must be officially registered.
Medical organizations are required to carry out such a diagnosis. In particular, a laboratory examination is mandatory in several cases: if a person is hospitalized due to a respiratory infection (especially in severe cases or atypical symptoms); if someone from the risk group falls ill - for example, a child under one year or a person over 60 years old, a pregnant woman, a person with chronic heart or lung diseases, a metabolic syndrome or an immunodeficiency condition; and also if several people fell ill at once - five or more during one incubation period.
The chief doctor of the Novgorod Central District Hospital is Irina Sukhenko.
Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor announced a warning to the Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital due to improper storage of dosimeters that showed dangerous doses of radiation.
