The job search service SuperJob conducted a study among economically active citizens and representatives of Tula companies on the impact of a sense of humor on professional life. The results showed that 53% of city residents who consider themselves owners of a sense of humor are confident in its benefits for finding a job and building a career.
22% of respondents answered negatively, the rest found it difficult to assess. Analysis of the data revealed clear demographic patterns: citizens over the age of 45 claim the benefits of humor more often than young people. Among respondents with higher education, 58% note the help of humor in employment, with an average professional — 47%. There is also a direct connection with the level of income: among those earning up to 100 thousand rubles a month, 52% adhere to this point of view, and among those earning from 150 thousand — already 61%.
A survey of employers confirmed the importance of this soft skill in hiring staff. If the interview reveals that the applicant has a good sense of humor, this will be an additional argument in his favor for 51% of companies, while 36% do not see this as a competitive advantage. The study was conducted from September 1 to September 18, 2026 and reflects the current trends in the regional labor market, where emotional intelligence and the ability to defuse the situation are becoming important factors for successful communication in the team.
