Do not immediately blame the teacher if the child complains of constant nagging on his part. First, parents should calmly understand the situation and find out the specific causes of the conflict. According to the expert, the child may perceive the usual demands of the teacher as dislike. In addition, the cause of complaints sometimes becomes the anxiety of the student or the desire to shift the responsibility for the lag in the subject to the teacher. The psychologist advises parents to talk to the child first and ask them to give specific examples: what exactly the teacher is doing, when it started, and whether the situation recurs constantly.

After that, you can discuss the problem with the teacher. The psychologist recommends not to start the conversation with accusations, but to focus on the child’s academic performance and his difficulties with the subject. If the situation does not change, parents should again contact the teacher with specific examples, and then, if necessary, report the problem to the head teacher in writing.

It is important to let your child know that your parents are on your side. However, it is not necessary to present the teacher as the enemy, since the student has yet to interact with him. According to Akhmadullin, children can blame themselves for the conflict and decide that something is wrong with them.

The psychologist also warned that protracted conflict can affect the attitude of the child to the whole study. The student may begin to perceive school as a place where he is not accepted, which will reduce the motivation to engage in other subjects. Therefore, it is important for parents to separate the subject from the relationship with a specific teacher: teachers change over time, and the desire to learn remains with the child for life.
