At least 160 trade events are planned in the region from September to November. The main point of attraction will traditionally be the regional center. In Mogilev, the flagship platforms will operate for three weekends in a row.
According to the main department of trade and services of the Mogilev regional executive committee, October 17-18, as well as from October 31 to November 1, trade will unfold in the territory adjacent to the sports and recreation complex "N2O" on Zlatoustovsky Street. Also, a large fair is planned near OJSC "Mogilevattractions" on October 24-25.
The pool of participants is formed by 13 leading enterprises of the region, including “Grandmother Krynka”, “Domochai” and “Mogilev Meat Plant”, as well as seven large agricultural producers, five peasant farms, fish farms and individual entrepreneurs.

In parallel with the central locations in Mogilev, walking distance sites are actively developing. Last Saturday, SG correspondents went to the Solominka microdistrict, which these days has become a center of attraction for local buyers. To the shopping arcades, cars are parked for loading, and to meet us with endless streams, citizens with packed packages, nets and loaded carts stretch to the top.
We go to the fair itself - eyes run away from the abundance of products and bright autumn colors. The counters are literally bursting with fresh vegetables, greens and berries. Right at the entrance we get acquainted with a farmer from Shklovsky district Vladislav Minkin. At its point, brisk trade, buyers just picky choose potatoes.
- Is it stored well? – asks a practical citizen.
- Depending on what conditions you create, Vladislav readily explains. But the variety “vega” is slightly more reliable than “gala”.
- Well, then let's have a whole net!
Noticing our camera, the farmer adds with a smile:
- You're lucky to have journalists here, so I'll give you a good discount!
After releasing a satisfied client, Vladislav Minkin says that on his 12 hectares near the house he is betting on diversification. He grows potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, corn, and grain. If one culture fails, the other will. This time he brought about one and a half tons of products to sell everything at zero in just a few hours.

- This year, the harvest is excellent, how many centners of potatoes per hectare there were not counted, but the bunker directly from under the combine will pour generously. For Belarusians, this is the main product, so we keep the price comfortable: 1 ruble per kilogram. Last year it was more expensive because of the poor harvest. Peppers and tomatoes give 2.5 rubles. The format of these fairs is perfect. The buyer in one place compared the goods, priced and immediately loaded. And we do not need to fight for places in the markets and get bogged down in administrative matters, the farmer said. The neighboring counter attracts the aroma of sauerkraut and bright placers of forest cranberries. Here trades Vasily Zagumenny, an agricultural producer from Mogilev district with 10 years of experience. In order to manage to service the flow of people, Vasily Mikhailovich organized a family contract and put up several points at once. Next to him are his wife, sister and eight-grader son. The father proudly notes that the son helps on the ground from the age of five, does it voluntarily, but also receives an honest earned ruble from his parents regularly.
- This is our first fair of the season. Usually at the start of the season, trading is more modest, then it will be better. But we're not complaining now. You play at the expense of prices and volumes. Judge for yourself: cabbage stores cost 1.2-1.4 rubles, and we have 80 kopecks. Competition! We are in the “Central market” and many people already know us and go purposefully. Today, two tons of ordinary cabbage almost sold clean. Carrots 200 kilograms gone, cucumbers of 3 rubles - about 50 kilograms, Beijing cabbage and cranberries - 30 kilograms - the farmer lists with excitement, weighing another portion of carrots.

Among the shopping arcades we meet Mohilev resident Sergey Kolesnikov, who confidently rolls a loaded cart in front of him:
- Usually, my family and I grow everything, but this season the land was not happy. The fair is literally helping out. Here, I took the necessary base: a net of potatoes and two nets of onions. I'll take it to the trunk and get the peppers back. The spouse will be doing sunsets for the winter. I'll have something fresh for dinner. The choice here, you see, is rich in autumn. In addition to the basic borsch set, farmers actively offer import-substituting and niche products. At the fair, it is impossible not to notice the crowd at the counter of Dmitry Kovalev from the Mogilev district. Instead of the usual roots, he has huge fruits on the counter. To such an unusual assortment - pumpkins and watermelons - Dmitry was pushed by a past failure, when his 40 acres of personal subsidiary farming stubbornly did not want to grow potatoes.
- These long pumpkin giants as if with a mace at the bottom – Italian muscat variety “lunga di napoli”. The fruits grow up to a meter long and weigh from 15 to 35 kilograms. Perfect for mashed soups, the taste is amazing. Three years ago they gave me seeds and I tried it. This season I have matured 50 such pieces, says Dmitry.
It is difficult to carry such a machine completely, and you can not cook so much at once in the kitchen, so the farmer goes to meet customers and solves the problem right on the spot: he cuts giants into convenient portion pieces. At the same time sells seeds (20 pieces for 2 rubles), ensuring that it will grow no worse.
For many people, the visit to the fair was a pleasant surprise. Galina Baranchuk just went to the store for cabbage, and got to a large-scale harvest festival:
- I didn't even know there would be rows here. Home is close to home, the prices are affordable, the choice is huge. You don't have to buy everything in bags - you can just take fresh greens or vegetables for dinner, which I will do.
But even in the case of large-scale purchases, everything is provided here. The organizers have also considered logistical comfort. Volunteers are on duty at the sites, ready to help the elderly and disabled to bring heavy nets with vegetables directly to their homes for free. They offer delivery services and the sellers themselves.

The fair marathon is not limited to cities and actively penetrates into the hinterland. For example, the shopping arcades have already been successfully integrated into the Dazhynak program in the Mogilev district. In the agro-town of Sunrise, large manufacturers such as the SPD Avangard enterprise presented their own products. So, the cheese-dried mumpyat sold for 12.5 rubles, and the delicate poldendwits - for 20.1 rubles per kilogram.
The full schedule, addresses and working hours of all fairgrounds in the region are available on the official website of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee in the section "Trade".
