Products and communal goods became the main items of expenses of Tulaks

Most working residents of the Tula region and the Central Federal District believe that their salaries are sufficient for basic daily needs. At the same time, many have to carefully plan the budget and take into account regular expenses. Such conclusions were reached by hh.ru analysts following a survey of applicants.

23% of study participants were satisfied with their income. Another 46 percent said they generally have enough salaries, but that spending should be monitored when distributing money.

The main part of the monthly budget is spent on food, utility payments and clothing with shoes. Products were cited as the main item of expenditure by 90% of respondents, utilities – 78%, and clothing and footwear – 71%. 69% of respondents spend on mobile communication and the Internet.

Among other regular expenses, the study participants singled out travel by public transport - 57%, treatment and medicine - 54%, child support - 52%. Payments on loans indicated 40% of respondents. For leisure and recreation, as well as renting housing or a mortgage are spent by 37% of respondents. Another 30% allocate money for self-care, and 28% for education.

The assessment of salary adequacy varies depending on the professional sphere. Employees in the IT industry showed the highest satisfaction with income: 40% of them said that salaries are fully enough for basic needs. In marketing and advertising, this figure was 34%, among construction workers - 33%.

There are also differences between federal districts. The highest proportions of respondents who consider their income sufficient were recorded in the North-Western Federal District – 76%, the Volga Federal District – 74% and the Siberian Federal District – 72%. In the Central Federal District and the Far East, this figure was 69% each. In the Urals, wages are enough for the basic needs of 66% of survey participants, in the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts – 65% each.

Against the background of income assessment, the salary offers of employers of the Tula region are also changing. According to Marina Kachanova, director of hh.ru in the regions, since the beginning of 2026, the median proposed salary has grown the most in law - by 20%, from 60.1 thousand to 72.2 thousand rubles. In IT, growth was 18%: from 67.1 thousand to 79.3 thousand rubles. In the field of working professions, the indicator increased by 17% - from 89.9 thousand to 105.3 thousand rubles.

The survey was conducted by hh.ru analysts from September 16 to October 6, 2026. The study involved 3334 Russian applicants.
