NCFD Republic topped the growth rating of small businesses in catering

The North Caucasus Federal District has become the absolute leader of Russia in terms of the development of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the field of catering. According to the results of the research of the SME Corporation, five of the six leading positions in the national ranking were occupied by the North Caucasus republics.
According to experts, the catering sector in the Caucasus is developing at a faster pace, showing double-digit growth rates over the past year. Ingushetia became an absolute record holder with an increase of 40%. In Dagestan, the number of enterprises increased by 25%. North Ossetia showed an increase of 23%. In Kabardino-Balkaria, the indicator increased by 17%. Karachay-Cherkessia closed the top five Caucasian leaders with an increase of 15%.
The top 10 also included Vologda (21%) and Leningrad (18%) regions, Donetsk People’s Republic and Chukotka (15% each).
Experts attribute such rapid growth in the Caucasus regions to several factors. First of all, it is an active development of domestic tourism: the influx of tourists stimulates the opening of new cafes, restaurants and authentic cuisine. In addition, regional measures to support small business and the legalization of business activities in the service sector play a significant role.
Earlier it was reported that the Ombudsman of Stavropol achieved an inspection after a complaint of residents at a cafe in an apartment building.
