Russian Railways: high-speed trains “Swallow” Minsk – Moscow began to stop at the station Moscow City

The northern lobby and a new passenger platform at the Moscow-City transport and interchange hub for MCD-1 passengers opened on October 1. The new lobby provides access to all three platforms, and also gives passengers a convenient access to the Shelepikha metro station, the Moscow Central Ring (ground line of the city train). - Ed.) and on the Schmitovskaya passage.
- The new covered platform No. 3 with a length of 287 meters will serve 40 pairs of suburban trains of the Smolensk direction. In addition, here now make a stop high-speed “Swallows” Moscow – Minsk and Moscow – Smolensk.
According to Oleg Belozerov, General Director and Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, this stop will significantly reduce travel time for passengers traveling to the Moscow City business center and nearby areas, and unload the Belorussky railway station. He also stressed that this direction is invariably popular: last year more than 3 million people traveled between Russia and Belarus, of which a quarter - 786,000 - on Swallows, and this year Swallows carried about 600,000 passengers, which is 10.8 percent more than in the same period last year.
