S7 Volgograd-Moscow aircraft lowered altitude due to divergence of instrument readings
Flight S7 2146 (Volgograd – Moscow) faced a technical problem in flight – due to a malfunction in the operation of instruments, the crew had to adjust the altitude
The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. According to the service Flightradar, the plane took off from Volgograd at about 11.50 and the first hour followed in normal mode, reaching the mark of 33 thousand feet. However, at about 12:00 the board disappeared from radar and reappeared on the screens of controllers only at 13:27 - already at an altitude of 6200 feet. Until the end of the route, the liner did not rise above this mark.
As explained in the airline publication “Volgogradskaya Pravda.ru”, on board recorded a discrepancy between the readings of instruments and the actual parameters – we are talking about vertical speed and altitude. The commander of the ship, strictly following the regulations, decided to step down to level 100. This measure allowed the crew to additionally check the indicators and competently prepare for landing.
The press service of the carrier stressed that the approach to the landing and landing were in normal mode - no incidents were recorded.
