Sergey Sobyanin told how transformed Shelekikhinskaya embankment

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened Shelepikhinskaya embankment after the completion of reconstruction. According to him, for three years in the area of “Big City” put in order seven sections of the embankments on both banks of the river.

On the site of the embankment, the mayor noted, there were previously mostly neglected territories, some of which belonged to the industrial zone, and now these are comfortable spaces for cars, walks and sports.

“We will continue to work. On the contrary, we are now working with the embankment in the area of the Peter Fomenko Workshop - there will be another section of the Moscow embankment, he said.

The embankment stretches along the left bank of the Moscow River and adjacent to the "Moscow City", but for decades served as an entrance to the industrial zone and residential development. The main part of the project, completed by September 2026, included laying a new section from the Akademik Korolev Bridge to the connection with Karamyshevskaya embankment in the area of the 3rd Silikatny Passage.

Sobyanin said that the site was expanded to two lanes in each direction, traffic lights and stops were installed, crossings and parking were arranged. In total, 3.2 kilometers of roads were built and reconstructed. Together with the previously erected section from the Belarusian Bridge to the TTK, a through passage along the Moscow River from the TTK to the Picturesque Bridge is organized about seven kilometers long with exits to Bagration Avenue, Shelekikhinsky Bridge, North-Western Chord and Marshal Zhukov Avenue.

For the convenience of access to the station "Zvenigorodskaya" on the embankment will be launched two routes - M31 (extended from "Moscow City" to the quay Karamyshevsky) and No. 374 (from the 1st silicate passage to the center of public services of the district Khoroshvo-Mnevniki). According to experts, more than 34,000 cars will pass here every day. Walking to the metro - six to ten minutes, became more convenient and the pier of the river electric transport "Heart of the Capital". For residents of local new buildings, the path to Moscow City was reduced by more than half - from ten to four minutes, and the load on Bolshaya Filevskaya Street, Zvenigorodskoye Highway and TTK decreased by ten percent.

Part of the project was a recreational zone along the river with a length of about two kilometers - from the Akademik Korolev bridge to the TTK. The total length of pedestrian and bicycle paths is four kilometers, a sports and two playgrounds have been equipped, 33 hectares of lawn have been planted. To protect against landslides, retaining walls two kilometers long were erected. In the near future, the mayor said, the completion of the reconstruction of the mooring passage.

The program of returning the embankments to Muscovites has been operating since 2011: during this time, about 110 kilometers have been put in order, including the historical granite ones in the center. In 2025, the promenade in Kolomenskoye and the updated Pushkin embankment opened, in 2026 - new sections of Krutitskaya and Simonovskaya embankments. Ahead is the renewal of the embankment from Filevsky Park to the Petra Fomenko Workshop Theater, Karamyshevskaya Embankment and other sites.

Earlier, Sobyanin announced an updated metro development program, under which more than 60 new stations are planned to be built in the city and in the surrounding territories. The program is designed for two stages - until 2030 inclusive and for the period 2031-2035. The first stage involves the completion of three new radii. Rublevo-Arkhangelsk line will be extended in the direction of Strogin, Sbercity and Novorizhskoe highway. Troitskaya branch after the station "Novomoskovskaya" will be brought to Troitsk: on this site will appear stations "Sosenki", "Rakitki", "Desna", "Cedar", "Vatutinki" and "Troitsk". The third radius, Biryulevsky, is already being actively built: nine of the ten planned stations are under construction.
