The mine in Komi closed for 90 days

Vorkuta mine "Komsomolskaya" will not be able to produce in two blocks for 90 days. This decision was made by the city court after revealing violations that posed a potential danger to employees of the enterprise.

The reason for the proceedings was the excess of the permissible level of carbon monoxide in underground mines. Control systems detected a dangerous concentration of the substance on October 8. On the eve of the mine announced a plan to eliminate the accident in connection with the fire, and the next morning mining stopped.

Responsibility for violations was assigned to JSC “Vorkutaugol”. A representative of the company agreed with the claims and explained that the company is already dealing with the elimination of shortcomings, but this will take time. The court took into account the admission of guilt, but also noted that such a violation was repeated.

Restrictions do not apply to the work necessary to eliminate the identified problems. The ruling is subject to immediate enforcement, while the company has ten days to appeal the decision to the Komi Supreme Court.
