Masterpieces made of fabric. How to create exclusive collections of clothes for the main scenes of the country

The sights of Belarus, the plots of national holidays, the coats of arms of cities - these unique subjects are embodied in the collections of clothes of the master and students of the Vitebsk State Industrial and Technological College. One outfit takes up to three months of painstaking work, and in the capsule itself - at least five exclusive images. Amazing costumes regularly decorate landmark events: from the Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk to international exhibitions.

Even towels are difficult Slender rows of hangers, velvet, brocade, delicate chiffon, shimmering gold coats of arms, skillful embroidery ... More than 100 unique costumes are carefully stored in the archives of the college. The main ideological inspirer of sewing magic, fashion designer Lyudmila Tikhonova has been working here for 44 years: Sometimes it seems: the imagination is exhausted, everything is already invented. Even within the same collection, each dress is exclusive. But then an idea is born again - and the tension subsides. My biggest love is the Belarus collection. It was specially created for the solemn accompaniment of official state events, namely for the inauguration ceremony of President Alexander Lukashenko. The outfits are in demand: they are taken on Victory Day, the republican action “Memory Watch”, countless exhibitions. Lyudmila Alexandrovna carefully holds her hand on the shoulders with clothes:

- Oh, we were looking for lurex threads back then! The idea was large-scale: each dress represents its own area, and most importantly, the central one - our entire country. The compositions are based on three-dimensional coats of arms. First, printing was done on fabric, and already on top they manually added application and embroidery. Rushniks, which models keep on shows, is a separate story. They are not simple: based on authentic patterns of the famous Slutsk belts.

Every collection starts with an idea. Masters and students conduct this research: they study architecture, symbolism and national ornaments. Only then are sketches and drawings created. If you plan to print on fabric, prints first bring to mind in graphic programs, perfectly fitting under the cut. And only after that, scissors are used.

Another legend of the local costumery is the collection “Vitebsk region”. Lyudmila Tikhonova removes one of the outfits from the hanger:

- This dress is one of 24 in a series we’ve been making for years. Each image is dedicated to a specific city: Polotsk, Orsha, Braslav... On the outfits adorn the three-dimensional coats of arms of cities in the technique of application. The color of the fabric was selected strictly under heraldry: if the historical coat of arms on a blue background is a blue dress, if on gold - gold.

The fantasy of college masters knows no bounds. Folk holidays they turned into catwalk masterpieces with embroidery and patchwork, where come to life Kupala and Kolyads. Foreign guests are surprised by "Stained glass" based on Marc Chagall, and the ball series "Inspiration" with a flying chiffon twice shone at the governor's ball. The new collection – “On the palms of Vitebsk” – developed by Lyudmila Tikhonova and master of industrial training Natalia Khartova, together with students, included seven models. Here and Victory Square with the memorial “Three bayonets”, and the museum-estate of Ilya Repin “Zdravravnevo”, and temples, as well as sports and festival motifs. The central gray-blue outfit combined several symbols at once, including the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theatre and the railway station. Each dress has its own palette. “Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk” blooms in blue and blue tones, “Zdravravno” breathes natural greenery, the patriotic theme is displayed by the contrast of gray, black and burgundy.

- The design is the most complex: all dresses have volumetric sleeves, Natalia Khartova is included in the conversation. Modeling them is an art. Only one central dress girls hand sewed and glued three hundred rhinestones! The cost of one dress on materials starts from 200 rubles, and taking into account the most complex manual labor, the finished outfit is estimated at least 500 rubles. The college is completely self-sufficient. Money for new fabrics and bold ideas here earn individual sewing orders and sales of products at fairs. Students not only sew masterpieces, but also present them on the catwalk. On the basis of the institution, a fashion theater was created, which proudly bears the title of “people’s”.

- We sew outfits for the standard 44-46th sizes, although girls come in different heights and builds, and we are happy, says Anastasia Gaidukova, head of the fashion theater. Under folk costumes we are looking for a Slavic type, and a modern collection requires a daring submission. But on the catwalk, all our beauties are real models, as if from the cover of a magazine.

For students, this is a great opportunity to combine study and creativity, sophomore Anastasia Ovchinnikova shares: – At rehearsals, we learn a fashion show, study stage facial expressions. Backstage is a separate drive. When the shows go one after another, you need to change the complex multi-layer suit in a couple of minutes. But in front of the audience, fear disappears. I am proud to wear every outfit, because at this moment we represent the beauty and color of Belarus. DIRECT Speech

Ekaterina Matskevich, Deputy Director for Production Training:

- We train seamstresses, knitters, hairdressers, manicure and pedicure masters, computer operators, operational logisticians, visual merchandising specialists, fashion designers, technologists and masters of industrial training. Our main principle is training at the level of real production. For this purpose, an advanced competence center has been opened in the college. In its shops there is equipment on which you can do absolutely everything: cutting and assembly of the most complex products. Students go all the way here: from training, mastering skills, choosing equipment and materials to practical training and developing competencies. The result of this base is regular victories in competitions.
