The court ordered the Shuya administration to overhaul the merchant’s “Kokovin House”

The monument of architecture of the XIX century - "Kokovin House" on Malachi Belov Street - finally waited for major repairs. According to the court decision, the Shui administration is obliged to put the building in order within two years.

Once this house belonged to the merchant Sergey Kokovin, who traded hardware. Now the building is in a depressing state: the roof is destroyed, plaster crumbles, brickwork falls on the facades and stucco is destroyed.

The lawsuit was filed by the Regional Monument Protection Committee. The court took into account that the city, as a former landlord, did not fulfill its obligations to overhaul the house before the privatization of apartments, and ordered the municipality to restore the cultural heritage site.
