Ulyanovsk cartridge plant was in the EU blacklist: what is now prohibited
The European Union has expanded the sanctions list, adding to it the Ulyanovsk cartridge plant

The European Union has expanded the sanctions list, adding to it the Ulyanovsk cartridge plant. The company became one of the Russian defense industry organizations in respect of which economic restrictions are imposed. The decision was made under the 22nd package of EU sanctions.
Together with the Ulyanovsk enterprise, two more Russian ammunition manufacturers were on the list - the Barnaul ammunition plant and the Amur cartridge plant "Vympel" named after P. V. Finogenov.
The reason for the inclusion of the organizations in the list European authorities called their activities in the defense industry sector of Russia. The documents of the Council of the EU separately note that such enterprises can enjoy state support, including receiving federal subsidies to compensate for the costs of employees.
Financial restrictions are imposed on sanctioned organizations. Their assets in the EU are subject to freezing, and European companies and citizens are prohibited from providing them with cash and other economic resources.
The new package does not only affect manufacturers of military products. The expanded list includes about 1,600 legal entities and individuals associated, according to the European authorities, with the Russian defense sector. For citizens included in the list, there are also restrictions on entry to EU countries.
How exactly the decision will affect the further work of the Ulyanovsk cartridge plant is not yet reported.
