In the Arkhangelsk region will create a single body of counselors “Counselor Pomorie”
The new professional community will unite beginners and experienced counselors, pedagogical teams and public organizations for training, exchange of experience and mentoring development

The new professional community will unite beginners and experienced counselors, pedagogical teams and public organizations for training, exchange of experience and mentoring development.
The model of the regional building was developed by the participants of the three-day intensive “Course for Leadership!”, held from October 23 to 25 in the multi-format space “SO.Building”. More than 60 young people participated in the event. The intensive program included three profile areas: beginners got acquainted with the competencies of a modern counselor and the peculiarities of working in the camp, experienced participants improved mentoring skills, and leaders and organizers in the track “Captains” worked on the concept of a regional community.
Yuri Marich, Head of the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Arkhangelsk Region, noted that today there are various organizations and pedagogical groups in the region engaged in the training and employment of counselors, but there is a lack of systemic interaction between them: approaches to training differ, and opportunities for sharing experience and obtaining methodological support are limited. The new building is designed to solve these problems and create conditions for the professional development of counselors not only during summer shifts, but throughout the year.
The corps will not replace existing organizations, but will pool their expertise and resources. The community will be able to include beginners and experienced counselors, mentors, methodologists, pedagogical groups, educational institutions and public organizations. One of the key areas will be professional support of counselors: it is planned to create an electronic methodological library with scenarios, memos and analysis of complex pedagogical situations, organize additional educational programs and consultations with experienced colleagues. In addition, the corps will facilitate employment in camps, professional skills competitions and the exchange of experiences between organizations.
The participant of the track “Captains” Alisa Afanasyeva said that a unified code of ethics for employers will be developed, and mentors will be assigned to the counselors who will be able to support them and help deal with difficult situations directly during the shift.
Now it is necessary to agree and approve the regulation on the corps and the roadmap for its development. This is planned to be done in the next month together with the Ministry of Education of the Arkhangelsk region, the First Movement and Russian student detachments. The next stage will be building cooperation with employers and teams of children’s health camps in the region. The full launch of the hull is not expected before the spring of 2027. By autumn, it is planned to unite at least 250 counselors in the community and attract 10-15 mentors.
