In buffets of Voronezh schools reduce the number of confectionery products

Minister of Education of the Voronezh region Natalia Salogubova discussed with the Chairman of the Regional Public Chamber Natalia Hwan the topic of school meals. This information appeared on the page of the Ministry of Education on October 15.

We talked about what children are fed in schools. The Ministry of Education said that the menu of buffets and vending machines is gradually replenished with useful snack options (fruit and cereal bars, breads, pastille, vegetable and fruit chips). At the same time, the amount of free sugars, sweet pastries and confectionery in the diet, on the contrary, methodically decreases.

In addition, for children who require medical and dietary nutrition, a separate menu for ten days, approved by the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, has been introduced.

To keep the situation under control, the region has an automated system "School meals management": through it, parents online can compare the real menu with the declared and leave their comments and suggestions.

The participants of the meeting agreed that the key role in the development of healthy habits is played primarily by the family, and not only by school. That is why schools will continue to hold open parent meetings with the participation of specialized specialists. The experience of pilot schools will be generalized and extended to the entire region.

The conversation also touched on how to create a safe, modern and development-friendly environment for the younger generation during the school year and during the summer holidays.
