In the Galich district, a bridge across Veksa and an eleven-kilometer stretch of the Stepanovo-Buy highway, reaching the border with the Yaroslavl region, were commissioned. Both structures play a significant role in communicating with human settlements, protecting traffic and strengthening links between municipalities. Kostromadorcontrol experts made sure that the contractors coped with the task at a decent level.
“Quality meets all standards. Geometry, slopes were checked, samples of asphalt concrete were taken. All the work was done with good quality, – said the Director of the GKU Kostromadorcontrol Alexander Shainov.
The capital bridge over Vöksa with a length of over 53 meters was built by the Soligalich MEP-8 - it replaced the former wooden crossing, which constantly suffered from heavy vehicles and fell into disrepair. The new crossing connects the ancient village of Unorozh with Orekhov and gives access to the highway to the district center.
The work started in the spring of 2025 and did not stop in winter: concrete was warmed up, and environmental norms were strictly observed during the spawning period. The concrete bridge was made higher - now the spring flood is not afraid of him - and wider to increase throughput. 174 million rubles were sent for reconstruction.
The crossing is capable of receiving modern transport weighing up to 100 tons in the stream, so the previous restrictions for heavy trucks have been removed. The facility was handed over earlier than scheduled, and its estimated service life is 50 years.
The facility is 100% ready, everything is done in accordance with the project and GOSTs. The warranty for the bridge is 10 years, and the service life is designed for at least 50 years, said Nikolai Rogozin, General Director of the Soligalich MEP-8.
The second accepted object is an 11-kilometer section of the Stepanovo-Bui highway to the border with the Yaroslavl region, which is part of the country's main road network. Specialists of the Galich branch of Kostromaavtodor, together with colleagues from the Chukhlom and Antropov branches, cleared the withdrawal strip, removed the worn coating with a mill and laid about 25 thousand tons of modern asphalt concrete. On the site, the sides were strengthened, about three kilometers of barrier fence were put, 120 road signs were placed, a bus stop near the village of Turovskoye was arranged and markings were applied.
The road not only connects the settlements of the Galich and Bui districts and provides public transport, but also serves as a significant transit corridor between the North-West of Russia and the Urals. In addition, the site leads to the popular sports and tourist cluster "Galich Zaozerie", attracting thousands of guests. 300 million rubles were attracted for the renovation of the site.
