In the Kursk region remembered funny cases about trade from the 90s

The joint press service of the judicial system of the Kursk region recalled cases from the 90s. Then the Criminal Code of the RSFSR provided for criminal liability for deception of consumers under part 1 of article 156 - up to 2 years in prison. Parts 2 and 3 of this article could be up to 7 years. The article became invalid on 1 July 1997.

The waitress thing. On May 6, 1993, an employee of the restaurant "Flight" served visitors. She announced the bill and received 2 761 rubles 76 kopecks for three salads, three entrecots, bread, 600 grams of vodka “Russian” and five bottles of beer. The actual cost of the order was 2,536 rubles 1 penny. The deception was revealed when police officers checked the calculation.

In court, the woman pleaded guilty. She explained that she had counted visitors by mistake, and assured that this would not happen again. On June 3, 1993, the Kirovsky District Court of Kursk found her guilty and fined her 10,000 rubles. The sentence went into effect.

The saleswoman's case. Another woman worked at the store. May 25, 1993 when selling sweets "Fun notes" and herring "Atlantic" she counted one buyer for 58 rubles 35 kopecks. When selling sweets "Favorite" - another 27 rubles 11 kopecks. The total amount was 85 rubles 46 kopecks.

In court, the saleswoman pleaded guilty. She explained that she worked only two weeks, gave one of the buyers 30 rubles and was afraid of shortage. The Kirov District Court of Kursk found her guilty on 18 June 1993. But the woman was released from criminal responsibility: she had not previously been convicted, pleaded guilty, repented, was positively characterized and worked for only two weeks. The court decided that she could improve without criminal punishment, and brought her to administrative responsibility - a fine of 3 thousand rubles. The definition went into effect.
