“The project proposal is aimed at improving the efficiency of the transport system and providing convenient communication between different modes of transport,” the authors of the project noted.
According to the master plan, TPU is planned to be created on the basis of the existing railway station and bus station. They are located in the northern part of the city near the street 50 years of the formation of the USSR.
The project provides for the organization of new stops and pedestrian connections. This will ensure a convenient transfer of passengers from railway transport to land-based urban transport.
“The project for the creation of TPU provides for measures to organize new stop sites and pedestrian connections to ensure convenient transfer of passengers from the railway to land-based urban passenger transport,” the ministry said.
The formation of a transport and interchange hub will increase the comfort and safety of passengers, reduce transfer time and make public transport more attractive to the population. This, in turn, will contribute to reducing the load on the city's street and road network by reducing the level of use of personal transport.
