In Minsk metro told why the metro is considered the fastest and safest transport
Andrei Drob spoke about the speed of trains, passenger traffic and the work of the security service.

Minsk metro remains the fastest and most comfortable form of urban public transport. On the air of the program “People’s GOST” said the official representative of the Minsk metro Andrey Drob.
According to him, one of the main advantages of the subway is the lack of traffic jams. The speed of trains reaches 80 km / h, so the road between opposite ends of the city takes less than half an hour.
“One end of the city to the other is within 27-28 minutes. This is very fast, said Andrei Drob.
Comfort in any weather
The representative of the metro stressed that the work of the subway is not affected by precipitation, ice or road situation. At stations and in wagons, comfortable temperature and necessary ventilation are maintained.
“There are no traffic jams under the ground, it is warm in the subway in any weather, good ventilation works, so passengers are comfortable,” Andrei Drob said.
According to him, residents of Minsk and guests of the capital also pay attention to order and cleanliness in the metro.
“Many people – not only guests from near abroad, but also from far abroad – note that we have order, cleanliness and comfort,” the official representative of the Minsk Metro said.
Metro helps to cope with passenger traffic
On average, the Minsk subway carries about 800 thousand passengers per day. On days when ground public transport is faced with increased load, the metro takes on a significant part of the passenger traffic.
Andrei Drob gave an example of a situation when land transport was particularly difficult to cope with the number of passengers. According to him, that day the subway transported almost twice as much as usual.
On average, we transport about 800,000 people per day. But on this day, almost 1.5 million passengers were transported, he said.
In the subway increased security measures
Another important advantage of the subway Andrey Drob called safety. In 2025, security officers detained passengers who tried to smuggle about 7,000 prohibited items into the subway.
More than 720 of them were banned from circulation in Belarus.
“Security is very important. This is one of the factors that distinguishes the metro from other types of urban public transport, Andrei Drob said.
According to him, the combination of high speed, independence from traffic jams, comfort and strict security measures makes the Minsk metro in demand among residents and guests of the capital.
