The Ministry of Labor explained labor guarantees for citizens of pre-retirement and retirement age

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection explained what labor guarantees are provided for workers of pre-retirement and retirement age. This sb.by reported in the press service of the Ministry.

The general retirement age in Belarus is 58 years for women and 63 years for men.

- For workers of pre-retirement age, there are a number of guarantees, the ministry said. If an employee faithfully performs his duties, does not allow violations of production-technological, executive and labor discipline and he has no more than two years to retire, the employer is obliged to extend the contract with him or enter into a new one at least until retirement age.

In addition, employees of retirement age, as well as persons within five years before its achievement, have the right to an additional exemption from work for medical examination - two working days once a year with the preservation of average earnings.

For citizens of pre-retirement age (5 years before the generally established) there is a possibility of employment at the expense of booking, and the employment service helps to find a job and undergo retraining.

If the retirement age has already come, the employee can continue to work without restrictions under an employment contract or a contract with full pension. Age does not affect the amount of salary, length of leave and other labor rights. In addition, an employee who has reached retirement age has the right to terminate the contract early, indicating the achievement of retirement age as a valid reason.
