The department of the SFR in the Tomsk region paid the first 19 hospital self-employed who entered the voluntary insurance program. Most of them chose the maximum rate of contributions for compulsory social insurance - the amount of payments for temporary disability depends on this. Today, 112 self-employed people are registered on voluntary insurance in the region.

Since 2026, self-employed residents of the region, payers of professional income tax, have been able to join the voluntary insurance program. To do this, you need to submit an application to the SFR Department in the Tomsk region through the application “My tax”, the portal “Public Services” or personally in the customer service. Applications are open until September 30, 2027.

As explained by the head of the SFR for the Tomsk region Dmitry Maltsev, the right to sick leave payments arises six months after a one-time annual contribution or continuous monthly transfers. The amount of payments depends on the selected insurance amount - 35 or 50 thousand rubles, while the regular payment is 1,344 or 1,920 rubles, respectively. Money can be transferred every month or make the full amount immediately for the year, and after registration of sick leave, the insured has up to six months to apply for payment.

The program has important nuances. First, the discipline of payments: contributions must be received without passes, otherwise the participant can be excluded, and upon re-entry, the six-month waiting period will begin again. Secondly, feedback at all stages: as soon as the right to sick leave appears, the self-employed person receives a notification from the OSFR, and after closing the electronic certificate of disability for each case you need to send consent for payment.

It should be remembered that the experiment concerns only temporary disability benefits. It does not apply to maternity and child benefits.
