Resident of Kizlyar fined for selling toys with Cheburashka

Kizlyar city court partially satisfied the claim of “Soyuzmultfilm” against a local resident to recover compensation for violation of exclusive rights to the trademark and copyright to the character.

The court found that on the Ozon marketplace, a woman offered for sale a children's toy with signs of counterfeiting - with the image of Cheburashka from an animated film. The rights to the character belong to the film studio "Soyuzmultfilm" and LLC "Soyuzmultfilm", the permission to use the defendant was not received and the license agreement was not concluded.

The court recovered from the woman compensation for violation of trademark rights and copyright to the character, as well as legal costs.
