Belarusian Violetta Gureeva became the winner of the Cup of the strongest athletes

Became known the winners of awards among women at the Cup of the strongest athletes – the final of the Cup Pavel Lednev. Belarusian Violetta Gureyeva won, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency reports.

Recall that the competition started on September 9 in the RCOP athletics in Minsk. The women's semifinals were held that day. In the decisive stage, 10 Belarusians, seven Russian women and a Turkish woman were selected. In the final, the local athletes performed well in the first types of the program. So, experienced Irina Prosentsova won fencing, Violetta Gureeva - obstacle course. But on the heels came the Russians — Alice Melikhova and Elizaveta Makushina.

Before the final view - laser-run - it was difficult to name a favorite, since the backlog of rivals from the leader (V. Gureyeva) was minimal. However, the Gomel citizen, thanks to accurate shooting and fast walking along the distance, held the first position.

- It felt great, but it was extremely difficult. We recently returned from the World Cup, which was held in the middle mountains. Acclimatization and adaptation of some athletes covered during the current competitions. This is the final start of the season. I've accumulated fatigue. The last lap on the laser wound ran on moral and volitional qualities. Fencing and swimming are at a good level. All other species, too. In general, the season was stable. It's a week or two off. And then back to the preparations. Already in December 2026, republican tournaments will be held, Gureyeva said.

Second place was taken by Maria Gnedchik. But the Minsk woman before the final look gave the leader about 40 seconds. But managed on its crown form - laser wound - to move to second place and lost only to V. Gureeva. She was only a few meters behind. Nevertheless, silver M. Gnedchik was upset. From the victory she was separated by one miss on the final firing line. She blamed herself for performing at fencing. However, the Minsk woman is pleased that she completed the competition in the prize position. Another positive thing is that during the season there were no injuries and unpleasant incidents.

- If I won today with all my shortcomings, I would not analyze my speech. But since it became the second and there was a residue, you will need to play through your mistakes and learn lessons, said M. Gnedchik.

We add that the third place was taken by the Russian A. Melikhova. The women's baton will be intercepted by men on September 12. Fencing (all types will be held at the RCOP athletics sites) will begin at 10:00, and the participants will leave at 12:00 for the start of the laser wound. There will be an award ceremony at the end. In the final, 10 Belarusians will also perform. Entry is free.
