The national figure skating school expands its representation at major international competitions. On the official portal of the International Skating Union (ISU), updated lists of participants of the American stage of the prestigious Grand Prix series appeared, according to which Russian Adelia Petrosyan joined the contestants.

Competitions at the Everett Ice Arena in Washington state are scheduled for the period from 13 to 15 November 2026. It is noteworthy that within the framework of the same sporting event, another famous Russian soloist, Alexandra Ignatova, who is more familiar to fans under the maiden name Trusov, will come out on the ice.

For 19-year-old Petrosyan, this North American tournament will be an important milestone after her performance at the Winter Olympics in Italy, where she was able to enter the six strongest skaters in the world in singles.

The athlete’s track record includes three gold medals of the national championship, as well as three victories in the final stages of the Russian Grand Prix. As for the current competitive cycle, the figure skater has already managed to score a silver award at the international tournament of the Challenger series, held in Georgia.

The return of leading Russian athletes to the world stage was made possible by the strategic decision of the ISU management.

Starting with the competitive season-2026/27, the relevant international organization officially opened access for skaters and coaching staffs from the Russian Federation to participate in major foreign competitions, setting as a prerequisite the preservation of neutral status.

Finland plans to tighten entry rules for Russian citizens.
