The team of Belarus defeated the Portuguese in the match of the Euroleague Superfinal on beach football - 3: 2 (after extra time). Thanks to this result, our team is located in the final classification on the fifth position, reports sb.by.

At the preliminary stage, the wards of Nicolas Alvarado, alas, lost to the Portuguese (1:4), the Spaniards (7:8) and the Swiss (6:7). However, in the consolation tournament, the Belarusian squad convincingly proved that it is still very strong. The day before, she defeated the Moldovan team (6: 1), and today, on September 13, she defeated the most titled team in the history of these competitions.

The winners were distinguished by Evgeny Novikov, Nikita Tchaikovsky and Igor Brischtel, the losers - Andre Fonseca Lawrence and Filipe Alves Santos.

In the final today, the teams of Italy and Spain will fight a little later, and the Swiss and Danes will meet in the bronze match.

In May, the Belarusian squad took part in the qualifying of the competition, following which they finished third. In the group stage, our guys defeated the teams of Turkey (10: 2) and the Czech Republic (8: 3), but lost to the Portuguese (4: 5). In the semifinals, the Belarusians lost to the Spaniards (4: 6), and in the match for bronze took over the Swiss (6: 4).

Belarusians have won four Euroleague medals (silver, three bronzes). The most titled team in the history of this tournament is the national team of Portugal (9 trophies).
