Yamal residents highly appreciated the conditions created in the district for sports

Yamal in the first half of the year topped the rating of regions of the country by how satisfied residents are with the conditions for sports. The Governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov thanked the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko for the high assessment of the work of the region.

In Yamal, modern sports centers are built within walking distance from residential areas, conditions are created in cities and towns. This year alone, two large arenas have opened – the Torch Arena in Novy Urengoy and the Yamal Arena in Salekhard. When improving public spaces, open playgrounds are immediately laid.

The year of health was picked up by the Yamal people themselves: hundreds of participants of the marathon #NiDyaNoMotion share their successes in social networks and find like-minded people, and in the extreme games "Northern character" became more directions - even beginners can now test themselves for strength.

Dmitry Artyukhov stressed that for the people of Yamal, sport has become a part of life available to everyone. The President set a task to develop the infrastructure for physical training and involve Russians in sports – the region performs it ahead of schedule.

“This is your merit, fellow countrymen: sports in Yamal is supported by those who choose the movement every day,” the governor said.

In the Shuryshkar district, it is planned to organize classes in shooting disciplines for children with disabilities. Dmitry Artyukhov supported the corresponding initiative of coach Nikolai Antipin during a personal reception of citizens. The project of national sports games for children in Beloyarsk was also approved.
