The Swiss Federal Council has adopted a new security strategy. This is reported by the press service of the Swiss Foreign Ministry.
The document indicates that the international situation is characterized by growing instability. Ending the conflict in Ukraine “remains an unattainable goal,” the strategy notes. In addition, the number of hybrid threats is growing, and critical infrastructure remains vulnerable.
The strategy identifies three policy priorities. First, increase the resilience of the state and society, as well as reduce dependence in critical areas. Secondly, to strengthen the protection of the population and public institutions. Thirdly, the strengthening of Switzerland’s defense capability to effectively counter a possible armed attack.
The directions are specified in 10 goals and 46 measures. These include fighting hybrid threats, defending against remote attacks, and fighting organized crime.
