Tour operators have not issued warnings about the threat of coronavirus infection in Thailand and do not cancel paid tours for this reason. This was stated by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
“ATOR, on behalf of the entire tour operator community, states with full responsibility: tour operators ... do not take any actions described by the media, due to the absence of a security threat in Thailand,” the organization said.
According to ATOR, there is no official information about the COVID-19 outbreak in Thailand. The incidence rate in the country is now almost three times lower than the average over the past three years, and the mortality rate remains at the level of influenza, the organization said. ATOR also does not observe a wave of cancellation tours.
Today, Telegram-channel “Moscow Today” reported that tour operators warn Russians about the possible cancellation of tours for October-December to Thailand due to “a powerful outbreak of COVID-19”. According to the publication, about 65,000 cases of the disease were detected in the country during the month, primarily in Pattaya, Bangkok and Phuket.
