US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called it logical for Russia to end the conflict in Ukraine. However, the logical outcome is not always guaranteed, he added.
“It makes perfect sense to end the conflict. But, unfortunately, in foreign policy and in such matters, what makes sense does not always happen, he said in an interview on radio station 77 WABC.
Rubio's statement came ahead of his talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The heads of diplomatic departments will meet on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York to discuss the US vision for resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
