The authorities of Russia and Ukraine are interested in suspending strikes on energy and agro-export facilities, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said. The United States is ready to mediate in negotiations for a limited ceasefire.

“It won’t stop the war, but I think it will help alleviate some important global problems,” Rubio told reporters.

US President Donald Trump discussed a moratorium on strikes on energy facilities of Russia and Ukraine with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on September 22 at the UN General Assembly. The Ukrainian president expressed readiness for a limited truce in case of cessation of attacks by Russia.
