The U.S. and Chinese armed forces should maintain regular dialogue, improve communication and crisis prevention mechanisms. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping before a meeting at the White House with American leader Donald Trump. As the world’s two largest economies, the United States and China should avoid conflict and confrontation.
“China and the United States must not shy away from competition, which must be constructive and contained. It should be a competition in which some catch up with others, not a situation where one loses and the other wins, Xi said.
The Chinese leader added that the leaders of the two countries treat each other with respect, have built good relations and maintain regular contacts. He called on the agencies responsible for diplomatic, trade, economic, financial and law enforcement issues, as well as humanitarian ties, to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
