Judging by the maps, the incident occurred near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, connecting the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden of the Arabian Sea. According to UKMTO, the explosions were noticed by the crew of the tanker. They thundered near the ship. The name of the ship and the port of its registration are not specified. None of those on board were injured. The impact on the environment has not been recorded. The agency is investigating.
UKMTO today reported an attack on a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. Unknown shell hit the engine room of the ship. No one was injured, no harm to the environment. The agency urged courts to report any suspicious activity and observe precautions.
