A giant block of ice weighing 250,000 tons hangs over the idyllic mountain village of Randa in the Alps and gradually slides into the valley. It's reported by sb.by.

According to TASS, fresh snow can aggravate the situation and in the worst case cause an avalanche, which will lead to tragic consequences. A significant increase in the movement of ice masses on the glacier was recorded in August. Currently, according to the expert, the lump demonstrates continuous dynamics and slides at a speed of up to 20 centimeters per day.
The ice block is under constant surveillance and the danger level for the village, which has a population of 450, has been raised. According to experts, the worst-case scenario is still unlikely, but residents are on high alert.
