Nigeria confirms Ebola case in Ugandan patient
The government of Nigeria said on Tuesday, October 20, that in the capital of the country was recorded the first case of Ebola, after laboratory tests.

The Nigerian government said on Tuesday, October 20, that the country's capital recorded the first case of Ebola, after laboratory tests confirmed the viral infection.
Health Minister Muhammad Ali Peit told the public broadcaster that the patient had travelled from Uganda to East Africa:
- She is isolated and receives quality medical care. Contact tracking has been carried out and continues right now, 44 people have already been identified who have been in contact with the patient.
Uganda's health ministry said in a public statement late on Tuesday that the patient had travelled to the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo for business and crossed Uganda in early October with no symptoms before they later appeared after arriving in Nigeria.
“Being in Uganda does not prove that the infection occurred there. The site is still under investigation, the agency said, adding that there were no confirmed active cases of Ebola in Uganda at the time of the announcement.
Pate said the patient was admitted to a private hospital in Abuja, where she received treatment for several days before the diagnosis was confirmed.
